Getting your domain
into your name.
A quick five-step walkthrough. About five minutes, no tech skills needed.
Your website's domain (the address people type to find you) is currently registered under my account while I get everything set up. This guide hands ownership of that domain over to you, so it lives in your own account, in your name, for good.
It's a short, simple process on a site called Porkbun, the company that manages domain names. I'll walk you through every step. Nothing about your website changes, and nothing breaks. You're just being handed the keys.
Follow the route.
Create a free Porkbun account
Go to porkbun.com and click Sign Up in the top corner. Enter your email, pick a username, and choose a password. It's free and takes about a minute.
Send me your username
Reply and tell me the exact username you chose. That's all I need to send the domain to you, so it has to match exactly.
Watch for the email from Porkbun
I'll push the domain over, and Porkbun emails you a message about a "domain push." Keep an eye on your inbox, and check spam just in case.
Click "Accept Transfer"
Open that email and click the ACCEPT TRANSFER button. That confirms you want the domain. One click and it's done.
The domain is now yours
Your domain is registered in your name, in your own account. You own it and control it from here on.
Nothing changes.
Your site stays live and I keep managing the hosting and the technical side. This step just puts the domain name itself, your address on the web, in your name where it belongs.
